Paramount Studios

It was established in 1912 as the Famous Players Film Company. It is the fifth oldest surviving film studio. It has, to its credit, movies where top actors and actresses like Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks Marlene Dietrich, and Mia West starred. This includes the blockbuster movies, such as Transformers, Mission: Impossible, and Indian Jones.

Columbia Pictures/ Sony Pictures Studio

It was founded in 1918. The first feature film was made in 1922. It had famed director Frank Capra which brought this studio into the limelight. It was sold in 1982 to Coca-cola and again, sold to Sony Entertainment in 1987. It is located in Culver City and the Sony Pictures Entertainment produced some hit movies like Spider-Man, Men in Black, and Underworld. Sony Entertainment is the home to popular game shows like the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

20th Century Fox

In 1935, the Fox Film Corporation and 20th Century Picture merged and became the most popular film company. It is the second largest film studio and has come out with Avatar, Star Wars, Ice Age, and Die Hard. Even on the small screen, it has produced good shows like How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, and New Girl. They are also known for starring some of the most popular stars like Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Jayne Mansfield.

Universal Studios

It was established in the year 1912. This studio is responsible for some of the most memorable films like Jaws and Jurassic Park. It is the also third largest amusement park operator in the world.

Warner Bros Studio

It was founded in 1923 by Albert, Harry, Sam, and Jack Warner. It was the first to sign a contract with Rin Tin Tin. The credit to produce the film with sound lies with them. The film was The Jazz Singer starring Al Jolson. They produced Harry Potter movies and they were mega hits across the globe. You can visit the Warner Bros Studios which is spread across 110 acres.
