Drama Classes For Kids In Los Angeles
More and more parents are recognizing the usefulness of enrolling their kids in drama or acting classes at a young age. The benefits are countless and there are hardly any negative impacts. But kids being kids, are prone to boredom quickly. This is why one must make the classes interesting for them. Kids love games, so what better way to keep the kids hooked to acting classes than to incorporate some fun games which also help them with their acting!
Two Truths, One Lie
It is quite common that the children might be shy during their first few days with a new group. It is best to break the ice as soon as possible, so this is a great game for this purpose. Each child will need a partner and must tell the partner three things about himself/herself, of which two must be true and one must be a lie. The partner should try to figure out the lie. It is a great way to learn about each other.
Who, What, Where?
Who, what, and where are the three elements of improvisation. As the scene is played out, the actors will have to answer these questions. The actors can decide the details in advance for more structure and understanding. It is a nice way to introduce the kids to the concept of working together in a group.
Sound Pictures
The students can be grouped together, and each group must act out a theme such as a waterfall or traffic sounds. One person in each group can conduct the sounds and control the volume and the timing. This can also be a great way to teach children how to work in groups.
Walk Together
All the students must decide on a signal and when the signal is given, everyone should start walking. On another signal, everyone should stop. Now, try to establish a sequence without talking where everyone in the group starts and stops at the same time. In order to achieve this, one needs to have a great awareness of others in the room.
