24 Years old actress and singer Zendaya Coleman rose to fame in 2010 with the television comedy Shake It Up. She played sequels in big-budget films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Greatest Showman.
Zendaya was born on September 1, 1996, in Oakland, California, and is the daughter of Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu (Coleman). While still in school, she starred in ‘Once on This Island’ and ‘Caroline, or Change’. She studied drama at the California Shakespeare Theater and the American Conservatory Theater near her hometown.
Zendaya started her professional modeling career for Macy’s, Mervyns, and Old Navy. She was also featured in an iCarly toy advertisement together with Stefanie Scott. After that, she starred in the original Disney Channel comedy-series ‘Shake It Up’ from 2010 to 2013 as Raquel “Rocky” Blue, alongside Bella Thorne who played CeCe Jones.
Shake It Up
At the end of July 2013, it was announced that Shake It Up! came to an end after three seasons. Still, Zendaya stayed at Disney and starred in ‘Zapped’. A few weeks after Zapped’s recording ended, it was announced that Zendaya would star in the Disney Channel series ‘Super Awesome Katy’. Zendaya’s career went quickly upwards after her success at Disney. In 2017 and 2019 she starred as Michelle Jones in the blockbusters Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
In 2019, Zendaya got the main role in the hit series ‘Euphoria’ broadcasted on HBO in which she plays Rue who struggles to survive in the grown-up world as a teenager. She has recently wrapped up the filming of Dune which will be in U. S theaters in December 2020.
