Meet Acting Teacher
BILL GARRETT
Bill Garrett is thrilled to be teaching students acting at The Playground. He has been a Theatre Educator at Calabasas High School for over 25 years. Bill received his Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts at California State University Northridge. As well as his Masters Degree in Education at Pepperdine University.
Bill Garrett is the Director at the award-winning Calabasas High School Theater Program. Garrett also leads the popular ComedySportz improvisational troupe and student leadership group.
Awards include: California State Outstanding Contributions to Educational Theatre, LA County Teacher of the Year, and Los Angeles County’s Most Inspirational Teacher.
He is a strong advocate for the performing arts in education and is currently President of the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California. Where he is busy helping to provide opportunities for both students and drama teachers.
He has acted in and directed nearly 100 stage productions including Something Rotten, Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, Seussical the Musical, and Shrek, to name a few.
