Meet Acting Teacher
MAIYA REAVES
Maiya Reaves is an acting teacher and professional actor who was born in North Carolina and raised on southern hospitality and hot biscuits. She earned her BFA in Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and moved to New York after graduation, where she performed in Off-Broadway shows and toured nationally and internationally for two years before settling in Los Angeles to pursue her film and television career.
With over 10 years of professional experience in film and theatre, Maiya’s recent credits include Borrelia Borealis, Valleyheart, End Zone 2, and The Once and Future Smash. She also holds a 200-hour yoga certification, which she incorporates into her approach to acting by combining physical movement with character work to help students bring their performances to life.
Maiya brings an enthusiastic, compassionate energy to her teaching and loves helping students connect with their characters, build confidence, and discover new ways to express themselves. She is excited to share her experience and love for the craft with the students at The Playground.
