The Playground is a conservatory is for young actors. It functions as a place where young actors become immersed in the craft of acting on television and on film. Here, young people of all ages are accepted and allowed to catch a glimpse of what it means to truly be a part of Hollywood.
Participants engage in a carefully developed curriculum designed by the director, Gary Spatz. Additionally participants are engaged with top child acting coaches from around the world who collectively have over 30 years of experience working with children, particularly within the entertainment industry.
Projects from the Playground’s director include shows like The Mickey Mouse Club, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond, and more. The director works with young actors on television products and film projects alike. He has worked with some of the more successful performers throughout Hollywood including Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears.
The Playground features state of the industry facilities which provide theater-style seating for children, playback monitors, studio lighting, and HD cameras. The director and his staff of child-centered professional acting coaches will nurture the creativity in each student to help them do their very best with all of their on-camera work. The staff dedicate themselves to helping young actors develop their personal techniques for film and for camera. Not only are young actors trained to craft a unique technique, but they’re given general education about the art of acting itself and prepared for everything, starting with the auditions.
Today, top of the line actors and actresses have used their training and experience from The Playground to launch their careers, including Logan Shroyer. Logan Shroyer is a producer and actor who first made his way on stage with the TV show Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street. Prior to making his way onto television, he parlayed his acting skills into commercials where he was featured as the principal actor. From Oklahoma, this young star continued to inspire audience with his recurring role in the show The Thundermans before making his way on This is Us. More recently he found time in between gigs with his rock band, Liquid Glass, to act in the films Camp Cool Kids and The Relic.
